For the fifth time, the Wellston Winds kicks off the WRCCA season with a FREE concert for the Warner Robins community!  The Wellston Winds is the middle Georgia’s premier performing ensemble, made of local music teachers, band directors, former Air Force Bandsmen, and other area musicians.  With this performance, the band will celebrate the joy of music with a broad variety of selections with something for everyone to enjoy.

As Miss America 2016, Betty Cantrell entertained thousands with her remarkable vocal performances while promoting her platform of Healthy Children, Strong America and serving as the National Goodwill Ambassador for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.  Betty is currently a junior at Mercer University, where she studies musical performance. She grew up on a 700-acre farm in Warner Robins, Georgia, and aspires to one day perform on Broadway.

Known internationally for his advocacy of performing pre-Classical repertoire on the modern piano, award-winning pianist David Murray brings broad experiences to his concert performance. Murray has performed extensively throughout the United States, with numerous recording credits and an Emmy. He holds advanced degrees from the University of Kentucky and Arizona State University and currently serves as Professor of Music and Head of Keyboard Studies at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, GA.

max noah singersJoin us for “Valentine’s Day Rendezvous,” an afternoon of music all about love. This the 11th annual VDR and the first time bringing it to Warner Robins. Max Noah Singers is GC’s small, auditioned, traditional choral ensemble, and The Cat’s Meow is GC’s contemporary pop a cappella vocal ensemble. They are led by Dr. Jennifer Flory and Mr. Stephen Hutchings respectively.

Founded as a special institute within Mercer University’s Townsend School of Music, the McDuffie Center for Strings combines conservatory training with a business-oriented undergraduate curriculum, preparing today’s highly talented students to become tomorrow’s entrepreneur-musicians. The performance will feature the wonderful energy and beauty of strings, including performances by small and large ensembles.

thumbnail_GBBThe Georgia Big Band consists of seventeen instrumentalists and two vocalists, all professional musicians from the Middle Georgia area. Organized in 1988, this regional band originated as the Dublin Jazz Band and was renamed to the Georgia Big Band in 2001 as they mustered musicians from all over Middle Georgia. The band consists of musicians with varied backgrounds, such as band directors and former military musicians, who come together regularly to perform music they love. The Georgia Big Band is dedicated to preserving the big band tradition and bringing this wonderful music to all.
