dawson-and-taneea-hullDawson Hull is a pianist, composer, and conductor residing in Warner Robins, GA with his wife.  He serves at Second Baptist Church as the Minister of Instrumental Music and Administrator of the Conservatory of Music at the church. He recently graduated from the Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore, MD with his Master’s Degree in piano performance. Prior to Peabody, Dawson earned his Bachelor’s Degree in piano performance and theory/composition from Samford University in Birmingham, AL.  Dawson has performed with the Paducah Symphony Orchestra, the Delta Symphony Orchestra, the Jackson Symphony Orchestra, the Samford University Orchestra and the Southeastern Chamber Orchestra. Dawson has appeared in master classes with Leon Fleisher, Awadagin Pratt, Santiago Rodriguez, and has studied with Alice Jackson, Dr. Betty Sue Shepherd, and Marian Hahn.

Taneea Hull, clarinetist, has recently moved to Warner Robins, GA with her husband, where she is establishing her teaching and performing career.  She has a clarinet studio at Second Baptist Church’s Conservatory of Music, and holds substitute clarinet positions with the Albany, Augusta, and Columbus Symphony Orchestras. She and her husband, who is a pianist, are active performers in the area, doing concerts at churches and other organizations and events.  Taneea has a Bachelor’s Degree in Clarinet Performance from the Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore, MD. She was involved in the Concert, Camerata, and Conductor’s Orchestras as well as the Wind Ensemble and Chamber programs at the Conservatory. She performed as a recitalist numerous times, and she was awarded the Martha and William Bill Memorial Prize in Woodwinds in May of 2008.

Roberto Plano – October 10, 2010

robertoplanowebItalian pianist, Roberto Plano, has toured extensively throughout Europe and North America. He has won numerous awards including finalist in the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 2005. He lives in Travedona Monate, near Milan, where he teaches regularly at the International Piano Academy “Lake Monate.”

Max Brod Trio – November 7, 2010

mbtseriouswebThe Max Brod Trio joins Petr Matěják, Czech violinist, with German musicians Kerstin Straβburg, pianist, and Maximillian von Pfeil, cellist. The Trio combines German, Czech and Jewish cultures and strives to provide an artistic contribution to intercultural exchange and understanding through music. This is their first US tour.

Tom and Doris Granum – January 23, 2011

Tom Granum and Doris Granum

A native of Warner Robins, Tom Granum is Director of Music and Organist at First Presbyterian Church, Athens, Georgia, a position he has held for over 25 years. In addition to his interest in organ for performance and worship, he has been active as a conductor and singer, including his having sung in several of the small ensembles conducted by the late Robert Shaw. First Presbyterian Church is highly respected for their five choirs, ranging from children’s choirs through a senior-adult group, and for the quality of their worship music, including a youth choir that has toured internationally twice in the last five years. Tom plans organ programs and recitals that are interesting not only for the seasoned listener but also for the person who hearing the organ for the first time.

Doris Granum holds a doctorate in music education from The University of Georgia and an undergraduate degree from Carson-Newman College. Teaching music at Oglethorpe Avenue Elementary School, Athens, she introduces children to the beauty and joy of music, especially singing. She, too, sang in several of the select ensembles conducted by the late Robert Shaw.

Mainstreet Brass Quintet – March 20, 2011

mainstreetbrassquintetcolor2webKevin Long, trumpet; Donald Hughes, trumpet; Shari Gleason-Mayrhofer, horn; Bryan Hay, trombone; and Allen Frank, tuba, make up the Mainstreet Brass Quintet. Mainstreet Brass presents a varied repertoire from 17th century canzons and Bach transcriptions to modern show tunes and blues classics. Education is a big part of the Mainstreet Brass mission.

Miguel Castro, master drummer-percussionist, is currently Director of Percussion Studies and Jazz Band at Middle Georgia College and is also the Percussion Coordinator of the Houston County School System. Miguel holds a master’s degree in Music Performance from the Conservatorio Nacional de Musica in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
